- 7/6/04 - PHCS PPO Network, notified that Advocate Health network in Chicago is severing ties to PHCS as of 9/1/04
- 6/1/04 -Unicare introduces new health plans and 4 elgible HSA accounts.
- 5/1/04- Fortis changing it's name to Assurant.
- 1/1/04- The new Health Savings Accounts (HSA) takes effect.
- 11/03- Unicare offers pilot program that allows 2 year exclusion of certain previously uninsurable conditions in Indiana.
- 10/03 - Wellpoint (Unicare) and Anthem to merge in 2004 creating largest healthcare entity in country.
- 5/28/03 - Empire Fire & Marine Announces that it will no longer offer a maternity option effective 6/2/03.
- 5/19/03 - Blue Cross announces rate increase for new business effective 7/1/03. Business issued 6/01 to 6//02 sees renewals at 9-21%, business issued since July 1, 2002 will see increases of 9-19%. Business issued 7/99-6/01 - 14-18%, Prior to 7/99 - 14%.
- 3/19/03 - American Community no longer selling individual MSA plan
- 1/1/03 - Unicare introduces new $3000 and $5000 deductible plans and introduces Short term medical plan.
- 1/1/03 - MSA's extended to 12/31/03
- 12/31/02- Right Choice plans convert to Unicare
- 9/1/02 - Anthem Indiana release new Blue Access PPO plans.
- 6/17/02 - Unicare announces that RightChoice in Illinois, plans will be withdrawn from the market on 12/31/02.
- 6/12/02 - Humana introduces new line of Individual health insurance products.
- 5/15/02 - RightChoice Illinois announces 9-12% annual increases in premiums.
- 5/16/02 - Blue Cross of Illinois announces additional 14% increase on top on increase of 9% in January.
- 5/16/02 - Blue Cross of Illinois announces the addition of preventive care for adults with the Select Blue Line of plans.
- 5/7/02 - Humana announces that they will reenter individual plan market in Illinois with PPO plan. Scheduled release June 2002.
- 4/9/02 - Wall Street Journal Article slams American Medical Security and American Republic for tactics with Individual health plans.
- 3/2002- United Security takes off-renewal 20% increase in rates.
- 3/2002 - Expected legislative changes in Indiana will allow waivers of medical conditions up to 5 years. Law change expected to be effective 7/1/2002
- 2/13/02 - Conseco announces termination of all health Policies. (Includes Pioneer & Washington National)
- 1/31/02 - Unicare/ Wellpoint completes acquisition of Right Choice, HealthLink & Blue Cross of MO.
